Skills for Care has had confirmation that their will be funding to support learning and development 2011 – 2012, this will be launched with the workforce development strategy which we anticipate will be April / May. The funding will be focused on vocational qualifications to support the ongoing professional development of adult social care workers.
The National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC) will remain key criteria for this up-coming year. However, changes have been made to the NMDS-SC system so that an employer can see exactly what data items are missing for individual workers. We are also improving the system to make it easier for large employers to upload large volumes of NMDS-SC data.
Please refer to Skills for Care’s website for any FAQs, all information and further updates on what will be funded and how the funds can be accessed will be made available on www.skillsforcare.org.uk.’
