ADULT SAFEGUARDING COURSE FOR MANAGERS (One Day Course)
It is the responsibility of all working or volunteering in the health and social care sector to understand the issues surrounding Adult Safeguarding. This includes how to recognise elder abuse, what to do if you suspect someone is being abused and the latest information on dignity in care and deprivation of liberty.
Suffolk Adult Safeguarding Board provides a website dedicated to this issue and it is recommended that all working in the sector should be aware of it. Please use the link below to access the website:

In addition it is essential that staff working in the sector undertake adequate training. Suffolk County Council have teamed up with West Suffolk College to provide fully funded Adult Safeguarding training details of which can be found by using the links below:

The free electronic learning programme has been developed to deliver Adult Safeguarding awareness training to anyone working with vulnerable adults in order to meet the rising demand for adult safeguarding awareness training for Suffolk and will deliver the training in a cost effective way.
Individuals will be able to take the course at a time suitable to themselves, a certificate can be printed on completion of the course.

ADULT SAFEGUARDING COURSE FOR CARERS (Half Day Course)
Introduction: Adult and Community Services has commissioned this training opportunity for the care workforce to be updated on Adult Safeguarding/POVA.
This training will provide valuable evidence for NVQ and will meet CQC requirements.
The training will be delivered by West Suffolk College.
Who is the course for? Care workers in establishments both within Social Care and the Independent Sector.
What will I learn on this course?
Course content includes:
Certification: Participants will attain a certificate of attendance Workbooks will be distributed at the training session for completion following the course. These should be discussed with the employer and can be mapped to H&SC NVQ
Location: Various venues throughout Suffolk Duration: ½ Day.
