“A Bridge between Employers and Training Providers”
About us
We are an independent, non profit making organisation that secures funding for social care training across Suffolk. We also offer information, advice and guidance on all aspects of training in the Health and Social Care Sector.
Our mission
The Suffolk Brokerage assists in maintaining high quality standards of care by providing information, advice and guidance to care sector employers and users of service across the county.
We aim to:
- Seek and secure funding for all health and social care sector staff
- Ensure funding is offered equitably across the sector
- Offer a choice of quality monitored training provision
- Support qualifications and training to be undertaken by employers
- Enable and support employers to meet relevant legislation
- Provide information, advice and guidance
Our Funding
The Suffolk Brokerage receives funding each year from a number of sources including Suffolk County Council and Skills for Care. We make this funding available to all adult social care employers in the county to assist in the purchase of a variety of Health and Social Care training.
We want to work closely with employers to ensure that the funding we have is accessed fairly and transparently. It is also our duty, as holders of public funding, to ensure that it is fully distributed each year.
We can only fund:
- Qualifications approved by Skills for Care
- Qualifications undertaken through one of our Quality monitored Training Providers
- Adult Social Care Employers
- Employers who comply with Skills for Care’s NMDS-sc requirements
For more detail regarding our funding policies please contact the team at the Brokerage to request a “The Way We Fund Training” leaflet or visit our website.
We want to ensure full access to our funding for Micro employers and Direct Payment Recipients and therefore offer funding to these employers in a slightly different way.
If you are one of these types of employer please contact the team at the Brokerage for a detailed discussion on how we can assist you.

Our commitment to quality
We are committed to ensuring any training or qualifications delivered through our funding
should be of the highest possible standard.
To do this we insist on quality monitoring any training provider who wishes to offer qualifications using our funding streams.
When we quality monitor we look at:
- The content of the qualification or course
- The delivery of the training
- The assessment and verification process
- The knowledge and experience of the trainers
- The business practices and ethics of the training organisation
By quality monitoring in this way and by tracking learners’ progress we can be assured that the training offered is of the highest standard. This means employers and candidates will benefit from a positive learning experience that fulfi ls their needs and requirements.
A comprehensive list of our current quality monitored training providers can be found on our website www.suffolkbrokerage.org
